Printmaking

Printmaking as an “art”form is diverse and is not necessarily an end in itself, often adding another dimension to ways in which creative work is produced through a range of practical processes.
The starting point of printmaking is to explore, research and develop an “awareness of  different surfaces” using man-made and natural sources from which printed images may be developed.

It is this initial background training which was to be the introduction to Heather's interest and continuing commitment to following her chosen path.
Although she now prefers to work with brush and paint, there remains a sense of structure, elements of design and pattern as she continues to investigate the structure and land shapes of Purbeck.

She runs monthly printmaking workshops at the Burngate Stone Carving Centre, Langton Matravers.
